2013 - Aceeaşi dependenţă / The old addictions

Aceeaşi dependenţă / The old addictions

Tehnică: mixtă ( cutii de lemn, gresie, oxizi, ardere 1260°, leduri luminoase)
Dimensiuni: 132x33x11 cm

In modern society appear a new problem of human identity - depersonalization. Only the communication dependence remained the same. The technology or  kind of system have changed the instruments for communication - letters of keyboard have replaced the handwriting,  dialogue by headphones is more important than  the communication  "face to face" and the numbers took place of humane personality.

Looking in/out of the system. Black boxes with ceramics pieces and light.

Looking in/out of the system is a new project of mine which it was started when I observed the people on a street. When I say system I am thinking on all systems which we know as:  economical, educational, technological, political.Almost all the attitudes of the humans became like  as machines which have  the automatically gestures. The languages and vocabularies  are influenced by the technology  which we it use  for communication and socialite but we had lost  communication face to face or the body language. Daily we use  the same letters but we are not write with  a pen, we use computer keyboard of phone keyboard and in this way  we move away from our personality. How is better to be? To be stay inside of the system or to looking outside of it?I decided to choose the ceramics material for the inside of boxes because I want to mark our automatism resistance and light part for the visual signal.

2012 Forme ale feminitãţii/Feminine Atittudes - Galeria Galateea Contemporary Art, Bucureşti, România

Galeria Galateea Contemporary Art, Bucureşti, România
 „Forme ale feminitãţii/Feminine Atittudes”

Perioada 19 octombrie – 5 noiembrie 2012
Au expus: Georgiana Cozma (România) şi Éva Andrea Szőcs (Ungaria)
Curator: Georgiana Cozma

Galateea Contemporary Art Gallery, Bucharest, Romania
The exhibition  FEMININE ATTITUDES
19 October to 5 November 2012

Was exhibited: Georgiana Cozma (Romania) and Éva Andrea Szőcs (Hungary)
Curator: Georgiana Cozma

Georgiana Cozma and Éva Andrea Szőcs are displaying typologies/attitudes regarding women: the independent, the vulnerable and the contested woman. The non-intruding observation of various types of feminine depersonalization generates Georgiana’s visual discourse. Éva entices the viewer by analyzing, under an ironical magnifying glass, the multiple impersonations of the woman deprived of her feminine side. Despite the appearances, both artists construct a recovering discourse, whereby the feminist “enclavisation” does not represent the salvation (at least not for the moment).
The postmodern idiom of the body seen as a fragment and the virulent presence of the fencing grid underline the idea of a trapped body. The body is nonetheless presented as a product, under the shape of a number, or a barcode, as a barrier of non-authenticity. Besides the message, the material has -  in Georgiana Cozma’s case - its individual significance and is constantly used to complete the subject’s substantiality, inducing the feeling of fragility or, on the contrary, granting the stoneware’s toughness to the subject.
The appetency for figurative, that describes Éva Andrea Szőcs’ artwork, is nevertheless a pretext for depicting a trajectory belonging to conceptual art. The artist appraises the false feminine attitudes. Her visual discourse reactivates classical quotations from the history of art, analogous to courtly/official portraits, where reaching the absolute perfection was the main goal.

The exhibition comes as an interrogation rather than a radical judgment. The courage of formulations and the emphasis of a path throughout ceramic installations, tri-dimensional sculptures and video art have reached their target.
